Mechanical Properties

EZ Series EZ50 Universal Materials Testing Machine LLOYD INSTRUMENTS

This instrument is used to characterize the mechanical properties of materials, include fixtures for different tests (tension, compression, bending, fracture), load cells (1kN, 50 kN), and extensometers.

The high stiffness frame incorporates a crosshead guidance system to prevent side loading of the sample under test. The crosshead is driven by twin lead screws and a high precision servo motor and DC servo system to achieve a wide range of speeds throughout the full load range. The stand alone system is capable of storing up to 600 test results from a choice of ten programmable test set ups. Test parameters are entered using the keypad in a sequential menu driven format.

Type: Twin Column, Bench Mount
Accuracy: Load accuracy of +/- 0.5%

Specifications:

  • Crosshead travel 855 mm
  • speed range: 0.01- 254mm/min
  • data sampling rate 8 kHz

TA – HR-2 Discovery Hybrid Rheometer

In this instrument rheological characterization can be performed on a wide variety of materials including polymer melts, soft solids, suspensions and emulsions. It combines a new hybrid technology that integrates a patented drag cup motor, a second generation magnetic bearing, force rebalance transducer technology (FRT), and True Position Sensor (TPS) into a single-head Hybrid rheometer. The HR-2 model is capable of applying torques range of 2 mNm to 200 mNm, ultra-high resolution of 10 nanoradians, high angular velocity to 300rad/s, and normal force up to 50N. The HR-2 delivers unsurpassed direct strain, direct rate, and direct stress control. It includes popular patented Smart Swap(r) geometries, a wide range of Smart Swap(r), temperature systems and options, and new TRIOS Software for performing Flow, Step Transient (Creep and Stress Relaxation), and Oscillation experiments.

The system is equipped with DHR Electrically Heated Plate System (EHP) that provides active heating and cooling rate of parallel plate and cone and plate geometries up to 30°C/min and maximum temperature of 200°C.

MicroTester G2 CellScale – New

The MicroTester is a micro-scale mechanical test system that can check smaller specimens  and is designed to apply compressive loads to small test specimens 50 to 2000 micron  in size. Typical specimens include biological tissue samples, scaffolds, cell aggregates, or hydrogel microspheres.                                                                                                                                                In order to properly characterize and test a specimen, it is often necessary to load it to different degrees and   the Micro Tester G2 makes it possible to test specimens under several control functions with displacement or force control modes  at different rates.

The main components of the device are the load application microbeam (Different microbeams  that come with the system and can used to apply deformations to the test specimen while measuring the applied forces).  Actuators (Piezo-electric actuators with 0.1µm resolution), Imaging system with high resolution CCD imaging  and  Temperature control fluid bath/test chamber.                                                                                                                                                        All system is controlled  with friendly  interface software for simple, cyclic, relaxation, and multi-modal testing with real-time feedback
